We are seeking an experienced Director of MEP to join a global cost consultancy and lead the next phase of growth for their MEP capability. This is a senior, client-facing role that moves beyond traditional “back-of-house” MEP cost management, placing you at the forefront of client engagement, strategic delivery, and business development.
You will take ownership of their MEP cost centre, to lead and grow a small but established team and working closely with clients across a diverse range of sectors. This role offers a genuine opportunity to shape, grow, and elevate the MEP function within a well-established, multidisciplinary consultancy.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the MEP cost centre, with full responsibility for performance, growth, and commercial outcomes
- Act as a senior, client-facing representative, delivering presentations and building long-term client relationships
- Support and contribute to work-winning activities, including client pitches and proposals
- Provide strategic MEP cost advice across a range of sectors, including healthcare, residential, commercial and education
- Lead, mentor, and develop a small MEP team
- Collaborate closely with senior colleagues across the wider business to integrate MEP into broader cost and project strategies
- Help position MEP as a core, value-adding service rather than a purely technical or cost-focused discipline
Key Skills and Experience:
- Significant experience in MEP cost management within a consultancy environment
- Proven ability to run a cost centre or business unit
- Strong client-facing skills, including presenting to senior stakeholders
- Experience contributing to or leading work-winning activities
- Leadership experience managing and developing a small team
- Strong relevant sector experience
- A proactive mindset with the ambition to build and shape an MEP offering
