One of the leading private sector construction consultancies are looking for an experienced Project MEP Cost Consultant to join a leading consultancy, working across a portfolio of high-profile developments throughout the UK, across a range of sectors.

This is a great opportunity for a Cost Consultant with solid MEP experience who wants to take responsibility for delivering projects, develop their technical and commercial expertise, and work closely with experienced senior colleagues and clients, and the next step in their career.

The successful candidate will have experience across both pre- and post-contract MEP cost management, together with a good understanding of MEP systems, cost planning and project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and deliver day-to-day MEP cost management across assigned projects
  • Prepare and contribute to cost plans, estimates, budgets and financial reports
  • Assist with procurement, tender analysis and contractor selection
  • Undertake post-contract cost management, including valuations, variations, change control and final accounts
  • Provide commercial input and advice on MEP costs, risk and value engineering
  • Work closely with clients, contractors, consultants and wider project teams
  • Help monitor project costs and identify potential risks and opportunities
  • Build strong working relationships with clients and project stakeholders
  • Contribute to project meetings and provide clear, accurate cost information and reporting
  • Support junior team members where appropriate and share technical knowledge
  • Develop your understanding of digital and data-led approaches to MEP cost management

Key Requirements:

  • Experience working as an MEP Cost Consultant / MEP Quantity Surveyor, within a consultancy or client environment
  • Experience across pre- and/or post-contract MEP cost management
  • Practical experience of cost estimating, cost planning, procurement and post-contract cost management
  • Good understanding of MEP systems, technologies and their impact on project costs
  • MRICS or working towards MRICS would be advantageous
  • Strong numerical, analytical and organisational skills
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with clients and project teams
  • Ability to manage your own workload and deliver work accurately to deadlines
  • A proactive, collaborative approach with a willingness to learn and develop
  • An interest in digital and data-driven approaches to construction and cost management

On offer is a salary of up to £70k plus a very good benefits package, hybrid working and defined career progression.
